The North Bay Parry Sound Health Unit reports a spike in cases today, with six new ones, raising the total to 467. There are now 19 active cases in the region, all but one in the Nipissing District.
There has now been a variant originating from India reported.
The adult vaccination rate has now reached 70 per cent but Dr. Jim Chirico, who has always taken a very cautious approach to re-opening the region, believes they have more to look at than a 70 per cent first vaccination number to open things up.

Meanwhile, the federal government announced today that fully vaccinated Canadian travellers will no longer need to spend 14 days in quarantine upon arriving home.

The Timiskaming Health Unit reports two active cases.
The Sudbury Health Unit reports one new case and 26 active cases.
The Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit reports 25 new cases and 220 active cases.
