SIU investigating police action in Magnetawan

The Province's Special Investigation Unit is taking a look at an OPP action in Magnetawan July 7.

At 9:15 p.m. Almaguin Highlands Detachment officers responded to a call for service.

Upon arrival, there was an interaction between a person in the residence and a responding officer.

"As a result of the interaction the OPP has notified the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) which has invoked its mandate," says Constable Louise Maki. "As a result, the OPP will not be able to provide any further information."

The SIU does not usually comment on current investigations, but will issue a report on the incident at a later date.
