Toronto Police Service is reporting to Nathan Phillips Square in the city's core after an apparent shooting.
In a statement tweeted around 3:50 p.m., the police service stated there were reports of a woman shot and people running from the area.
Social media reports from Toronto-area journalists from the same time and place show video of people fleeing the square, which is adjacent to Toronto City Hall and is a major gathering place for events like Canada Day.
