Shaw wins doubles title at Swiss Open

North Bay para tennis player Rob Shaw is a champion as he recently captured the Quad Doubles title at the Swiss Open.  

In the Quad Doubles final, Shaw and his partner, Heath Davidson of Australia, edged David Wagner (USA) and Kyu-Seung Kim (Korea Republic) in straight sets 6-4, 7-5. 

The Swiss Open, which is an ITF 1 Series event, took place in Geneva from July 19 to 24. 

Shaw competed for Team Canada at the Tokyo 202 Paralympics last summer and is currently ranked 8th in Quad Singles.  

He won gold in the men's quad category in wheelchair tennis at the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, Peru.
