Serran running again for council

Serran is just finishing his first term on city council, as he was first elected to North Bay City Council in 2014

Jeff Serran is feeling lucky on Friday the 13th as this morning he filed his nomination papers to run again for a seat in North Bay City Council, 

The North Bay native is the Executive Director at the Downtown Improvement Area in North Bay where he has worked since 2005. 

Serran is just finishing his first term on city council, as he was first elected to North Bay City Council in 2014. 

Prior to that he was a trustee on the Near North District School Board from 2010 to 2014. 

Serran also served as the Director at the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce for two years from 2008 to 2010.  

"We need to have council work as a team and bring industry/business into town that will employ many people," Serran told BayToday.ca.  

"I want to continue serving the citizens of North Bay and be part of that team." 

Nominations for council and school board must be filed by 2 p.m. on nomination day, Friday, July 27.

The election will be held Monday, October 22, Voters will elect mayors, councillors, school board trustees and all other elected officials in all of the province's municipalities.
