Security cam catches thief red handed

A man broke into a business on Roy Drive and stole gasoline and other pieces of property and was recorded committing the offence on CCTV

A North Bay man has been arrested and charged with numerous offenses, including break and enter after being caught on a company's security camera.

At 10:45 p.m. on September 2, a man broke into a business on Roy Drive and stole gasoline and other pieces of property and was recorded committing the offence on CCTV.

The thief fled in a vehicle.

Then 45 minutes later North Bay police officers stopped the vehicle and arrested the suspect. A search by police located five grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Brandon Lawrence Hines, 28, is charged with:

  • Break and enter a dwelling house to commit an indictable offence
  • Theft under $5,000
  • Driving while under suspension
  • Failure to comply with an undertaking
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance

Hines was held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
