Second victim dead after vehicle plunged into McKellar Lake

WEST PARRY SOUND, ONT. – On November 26, 2016, members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit, and the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, continued the investigation into the collision. 

Investigation has thus far revealed that on November 25, 2016, the second occupant, a female, was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The vehicle which was submerged in McKellar Lake, was located by the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit to confirm no other occupants were present in the vehicle. 

The deceased persons have been identified as;

Dolores Lee, 69 years of age, and

Frederick Lee, 70 years of age, both from McKellar Township, Ontario.

Post Mortem Examinations are scheduled for Tuesday, November 29, 2016. 

The investigation is continuing.

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On November 25, 2016 at 2:35 p.m., the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), McKellar Fire Department and Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services responded to a motor vehicle collision on McKellar Lake Road in McKellar Township. 

OPP Investigation has so far revealed that a vehicle left the roadway and entered the water. Two occupants were pulled out of the vehicle. One male has been pronounced deceased at hospital. The condition of the second occupant remains unknown at this time.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators have been deployed to assist in this investigation.

The investigation is continuing at this time. Updates will be provided as they come available.
