Rotary hosting Oktoberfest fundraiser

The Rotary Club of North Bay and Cecil’s Eatery and Beer Society have joined forces to host an Oktoberfest fundraiser at Cecil’s from Wednesday, October 3rd to 6th.

The official kick off took place at 4:00 p.m. Thursday with the celebratory “Tapping of the Keg”, followed by Family Dinner Night at 5:00 p.m.

A portion of the revenues will go towards supporting the numerous projects and initiatives of The Rotary Club of North Bay, everything from helping local kids with special needs to contributing towards completing Rotary International’s goal of eradicating polio.

John Lechlitner, General Manager for Cecil’s, stated that “Cecil’s is pleased to be co-hosting this celebration with Rotary and hope to see this become an annual fundraising event”.

Rotary spokesperson, Bill Hagborg, commented on how pleased their club was at being approached by Cecil’s to consider being involved. “Our Club is continually exploring new fundraising opportunities to meet our project funding commitments and welcomed John’s Lechlitner’s offer”, Hagborg said.

The celebration includes an Oktoberfest Beer Judging Contest, starting at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, with Oktoberfest entertainment that evening, a chance to win a Cecil’s catered lunch for up to 12, a Rotary Family pancake breakfast, 7-10 a.m. on Saturday morning, culminating with a Beer Dinner Saturday evening from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.
