Nipissing-Timiskaming MP Anthony Rota is pleased with today’s announcement that the government has approved funding requests for thirteen recreational facility projects in our district. “This is great news for all residents of Nipissing-Timiskaming,” says Rota, “These recreational complexes provide an opportunity for people to enjoy physical activity as well as to socialize. These improvements will ensure that the facilities will meet this demand and encourage everyone to have a healthy lifestyle.”

The Recreation Infrastructure Program (RInC) provides funding to renew and upgrade community recreation facilities across Canada with allocation being shared equally among the federal, provincial, and municipal governments or community organizations. A total of approximately $3.6 million was invested in Nipissing-Timiskaming with $1.4 million coming from the federal government.

“I have been working with applicants throughout the riding and I am very pleased that this collaborative effort has generated such positive results,” says Mr. Rota.
