The members of the Anthony Rota campaign team are very frustrated by the damage being caused to their campaign signs.

Overnight on Monday the large ROTA sign at the overpass was vandalized and pulled down. This is a sign that is well anchored so that it is safe and will not blow down in a strong wind.

“We have many hard-working people who are very frustrated by having to start their day by repairing signs that have been damaged,” said Peter Gavan, Campaign Chair for the federal Liberal candidate for Nipissing-Timiskaming.

“Besides the wasted volunteer time, the damage comes at a great financial cost to the campaign,” Gavan added.

The Liberal candidate is also very disappointed by the damage being done.

“I am very concerned that there are people out there who find it necessary to do this type of thing every election,” said Anthony.

“If these folks are venting their frustration about the political system, I invite them to contact me so that we can talk about their issues and concerns,” offered Mr. Rota.

“I recognize that in every election there is damage caused to signs,” said Gavan.

“But when a large sign like at the overpass comes down, one starts to wonder.”
