Rising country-pop singer kicks off northeastern tour in North Bay tonight

Huntsville girl turned Nashville star, Alexis Taylor is appearing at Cecil's tonight.

Alexis Taylor is a Canadian singer and songwriter who was born and raised in Huntsville but now is a rising star in Nashville.

Her current tour called, "The coming home tour' pays tribute to her early years up north as she begins a northeastern Ontario trip.

Taylor kicks off her 14 venue tour tonight at Cecil’s Brewhouse & Kitchen.

"I'm so excited to be back in Ontario and showcasing some new music that I've been working on while living in Nashville!" she told BayToday. "I wouldn't be where I am today without the love and support of my amazing fans here in Canada."

As a youngster she showed a great interest in music, displaying proficiency in guitar, vocals, and strong capabilities in the area of songwriting according to her website. 

At the age of 12, she wrote her first song and learned how to play guitar shortly after. Throughout her high school years she performed in many local venues including the Huntsville Algonquin Theatre, The Gravenhurst Opera House, Hidden Valley Resort, and Deerhurst Resort.

She competed as a finalist in Muskoka Star Quest and was a part of the first annual Muskoka Song Night. By then, music had become an inseparable part of Alexis' life. 

After high school, she continued to build upon her musical skills through studies at Berklee College of Music and performed at various venues and radio stations throughout North America. It was during a visit to Nashville, Tennessee in 2012 that Alexis fell in love with the city and decided to move there permanently to pursue music full time. 

Currently residing in Nashville, Tennessee the country/pop artist is continuing to follow her dream of becoming a musician and is currently working on recording an EP album which is set to be released in summer 2017.
