Rifle, shotgun and ammo seized in Huntsville raid

OPP has arrested and charged three people with criminal code offences as a result of a search warrant executed in Huntsville

Guns and ammo seized in a Huntsville raid.

A search warrant executed on a Huntsville home today yielded guns and ammunition says an OPP news release. 

Numerous charges were laid against three people, including an Armour Township woman.

As a result of the investigation police seized:

  • Remington .22 rifle
  • Mass Arms 12 gauge shotgun.
  • Twenty four 12 gauge shotgun shells
  • Sixteen rounds of .22 calibre ammunition
  • Flip knife

In addition to the seizure, three people were charged.

Kayle MacLeod, 31, from Armour Township south of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Possess a rifle and a shotgun without being the holder of a licence 
  • Possession of a rifle and a shotgun knowing that it was obtained by the commission of an offence
  • Fail to comply with conditions of an undertaking, to wit: possess firearms and ammunition

It's the second time this week that MacLeod has been arrested by the OPP.

On January 25, after a Huntsville traffic stop, they charged MacLeod with four counts of possession of a schedule 1 substance for the purposes of trafficking and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Jason Gauvin, 32, from Huntsville is charged with:

  • Possess a rifle and a shotgun without being a holder of a licence
  • Possess a rifle and a shotgun knowing that it was obtained by the commission of an offence

Brandon Condrey, 29, from Hamilton is charged with:

  • Possession of a firearm and ammunition while he was prohibited from doing so by reason of an order 
  • Possess a firearm without being a holder of a licence
  • Offer to transfer a rife and a shotgun knowing that he was not authorized to do so
  • Possessing a rifle and a shotgun knowing it was obtained by the commission of an offence
  • Possess a rifle and a shotgun knowing that he was not a holder of a licence
  • While being bound by a probation order, fail without reasonable excuse to comply with such order, possess a firearm and ammunition
  • Being at large on an undertaking, fail to comply with a condition of that undertaking, to wit possess weapons and ammunition

The three were held for a bail hearing today and were remanded into custody.

MacLeod is next scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka Court tomorrow, January 28.

Condrey is next scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka Court on, January 31.

Gauvin is next scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Muskoka Court tomorrow, January 28.
