Residents invited to join the Reinstate the Northlander rally this Friday

Representatives from the General Chairperson’s Association (GCA) which represents all unionized employees at Ontario Northland (ONTC) are asking all concerned citizens in the North Bay area to join us for a Rally at the North Bay ONR Station, 100 Station Road between 1 and 2 pm Friday September 28, 2012 to demand the McGuinty Government reinstate Northlander Passenger Train Service.

“If the Government thought the discontinuance of the Northlander would end the fight to stop the divestiture of the ONTC they will soon find how wrong they were.” said GCA spokesperson Brian Kelly.

“We are asking all concerned citizen to join us at the North Bay ONR Station to meet the Northlander and demand that this service not be cut but revitalized. This service should be one that all Northerners are proud of, with new equipment and a schedule that meets the need of the travelling public. No different than the publicly provided services for people in the south”, added Kelly.

“Northerners are not second class citizen Premier and expect better from you and your Minister of Northern Development Rick Bartolucci”, concluded Kelly.
