Residence fire quickly doused

A residence fire at 11:20 this morning was quickly doused, with no injuries and minimal damage.

The fire broke out in the laundry room of a College Drive residence shared by Nipissing University and Canadore College students.

“The students, staff and the North Bay Fire Department responded very quickly and in a professional manner,” said Murray Green, the vice president of administration and finance for Nipissing University.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
