Remember that truck that fell through the ice in Callander Bay?

The truck was placed on the island and out of the water to protect against any environmental damage as water levels rise on Lake Nipissing

Well, it's about to be rescued.

You may recall that around Mid-March the OPP tweeted out a picture of a Ford 3/4 ton pickup, partially submerged.

Dustin Vandrie posted this pic to the Lake Nipissing Fishing Board Facebook page this weekend of the truck that went through the centre channel of Callander Bay behind Smith's Island.

It's been towed onto the island waiting to be barged across Callander Bay by a local company.

The truck was placed on the island and out of the water to protect against any environmental damage as water levels rise on Lake Nipissing.

It won't be there that much longer.

The towing company is waiting to float the extraction unit across the water but is hampered by water levels being too shallow at the boat launches.
