Rash of Break and Enters concerns OPP

North Bay OPP have received reports of break and enters, thefts and vandalism which occurred at homes, cottages, camps and businesses in Powassan, Mattawa and Bonfield in recent months.

Members of the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment and Crime Unit, with the assistance of Forensic Identification Services (FIS), are continuing investigations into the rash of break and enters that have happened in the area.

Analytics are being utilized as well as officers being assigned to focus on these crimes.

North Bay OPP have received reports of break and enters, thefts and vandalism which occurred at homes, cottages, camps and businesses in Powassan, Mattawa and Bonfield in recent months.

The culprit(s) have damaged walls, broken household items, smashed windows and, in two locations, defecated.  

Items stolen have included generators, boat motors, motorcycles, chain saws and various other items.

The OPP is doing their due diligence to solve these crimes and appreciate, not only the physical damage done, but also the psychological damage these types of crimes cause.
