Rainfall warning

Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are possible by Friday morning
rain

Time to change out that snow shovel for an umbrella and rubber boots.

A lot of rain is coming our way, so Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for:

  • North Bay - West Nipissing, 
  • Témiscaming area, Que.
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity,
  • New Liskeard - Temagami, 
  • Burk's Falls - Bayfield Inlet,
  • Huntsville - Baysville,
  • Parry Sound - Rosseau - Killbear Park
  • Deep River - Whitney - Eastern Algonquin Park

Rain, heavy at times is expected and the frozen ground has a reduced ability to absorb this rainfall.

Rain will develop this evening or overnight and continue for the remainder of the work week. The heaviest rain is expected Thursday afternoon and evening. 

Total rainfall amounts of 30 to 50 mm are possible by Friday morning. 

Periods of rain will continue Friday with an additional 20 to 30 mm of rainfall possible before tapering to scattered showers Friday night.

This rainfall is the result of a Colorado low that will track over northeastern Ontario on Thursday.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Don't approach washouts near rivers, creeks, and culverts. Keep children and pets away from creeks and river banks.
