Rain warning ended here, but continues South River south

Additional rain is likely today through Saturday

Environment Canada says a rainfall warning for  North Bay - West Nipissing - Témiscaming area, has been lifted but continues for:

  • South River - Burk's Falls,
  • Huntsville - Baysville,
  • Parry Sound
  • Bracebridge - Gravenhurst
  • Deep River - Whitney - Eastern Algonquin Park,

Additional rain is likely today through Saturday. The frozen ground combined with recent heavy rainfall will result in the ground having a reduced ability to absorb further rainfall.

Some portions of central Ontario, particularly near Georgian Bay, received nearly 40 mm of rain on Thursday. Periods of rain are likely to continue through Saturday. However, there may be significant breaks in the precipitation from time to time.

Additional rainfall amounts today through Saturday may be in the 10 to 25 mm range.

The precipitation is the result of several low-pressure systems tracking over the region from the southern Plains States.

In North Bay there is still a 60 per cent chance of rain showers this morning and the flood warning from the North Bay Mattawa Conservation Authority remains in effect.
