The Chippewa 7th annual SmartRisk Quick Click Challenge was held on Tuesday, October 2 with over 50 students racing to see who would hold the title of Quick Click champions for the year. Students competed in teams of 5 racing in and out of matching Toyota’s and buckling up in each seat to finish the relay. The purpose of this fun event is to demonstrate to youth how easy and fast it is to buckle up every time you get in to the vehicle.

The fastest team was ‘The Quick Clickers’ consisting of Kobe Rosoph, Haden Corbeil, Ben Garrigan, Ethan Redhead and Bryce McIntyre. The second place team, ‘Literally Anything’, was made up of Ashley Bethune, Kelsey Corbeil, Lauren Hutchings, Lauren Keuhni and Carley Stickle.

The Chippewa SmartRisk team promotes seatbelt awareness because unbelted drivers involved in a collision are nearly 34 times more likely to be killed than drivers wearing a seatbelt. For every 1% increase in the seatbelt compliancy rate, five lives can be saved in Ontario every year.
