An Elliot Lake OPP officer is crediting North Bay YMCA staff with saving a man's life yesterday.

Constable Josh Dagg is from North Bay and was at the YMCA on Chippewa St. for a squash tournament with some family.

"In the gym next to us, a group of gentlemen was playing pickleball when a man suddenly went down as he was having a heart attack," said Dagg. "The staff at the YMCA acted quickly and started CPR on the man, following that with a defibrillator. They were able to get the man's pulse back and he was brought to the hospital.

"The staff at the YMCA saved a life. They truly were this gentleman’s guardian angel. It is a Christmas miracle that the staff was around to save this man.

"I don’t know all the details but I am very proud of what I heard transpired," added Dagg."I think this is truly an uplifting news story and wanted to share it with you."
