Pulling a fire alarm in a local hotel gets man arrested

Guests of the hotel were forced to evacuate the premises as a result of the false alarm.

Police say that at 1 a.m. on Friday March 25th, at the Voyageur Hotel on Delaware Avenue, a man kicked a hotel room door, and then pulled the fire alarm.
 
Guests of the hotel were forced to evacuate the premises as a result of the false alarm.
 
Both the fire department and police officers arrived to investigate shortly thereafter.

North Bay Police arrested a man at the scene. He was later released from custody with a court date scheduled for Tuesday May 3rd.

Following an investigation into the mischief complaint, North Bay Police arrested and charged:

A 47-year old man, of Smooth Rock Falls with:

  • One count of false alarm of fire; and
  • One count of mischief under $5,000.
