An escaped psychiatric patient described as dangerous has been captured by the North Bay Police Service.
Staff Sgt. Brian Crowne said the 31-year-old male was apprehended as he came out of the bush on the north highway late Saturday night.
The patient had fled male the North Bay Psychiatric Hospital around noon Saturday. He has been diagnosed as suicidal, homicidal and acutely psychotic.
Staff Sgt Ted Whittle told BayToday.ca city police believed the subject was still in bush area around the hospital and hoped to have the patient back in care before nightfall. Whittle also said several units were searching in the area as well as a police helicopter and a dog unit.
