Poutine leads to mentoring dollars

'We know how much work this organization is doing in the community and understand how tight budgets are'

In late February the Rotaract Club of North Bay - Nipissing held its 3rd annual Poutine, Pints and Plaid event.

Each year the club chooses an organization in North Bay and area to support through the funds raised, and this year the club chose Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Bay and District.

“We know how much work this organization is doing in the community and understand how tight budgets are," said  Alex Rogerson, Rotaract Club President. "Our club thought that if we were able to help even just a little we could make a difference in the lives of youth in North Bay.”

A $5,000 donation was presented to Ann-Marie Gange, Caseworker, and Mike Bissett, board member.

The Rotaract Club is supporting the “Go Girls!” and “Game On!” group mentoring programs.

Rotaract is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young adults from 18 to mid-30s. Rotaract stands for Rotary in Action and is a non-partisan organization that promotes community service, international service as well as fellowship and professional development opportunities.
