Post Foods Canada Search for Goodness competition has three local nominees

Ten finalists will be selected by online voting, and a winner will be determined by a panel of judges

Three teachers from Holy Cross Elementary School have been nominated as A+ teachers in the Post Foods Canada Search for Goodness competition.

Michelle McMartin, Celine Gauthier, and Carole Anne Renton were all nominated by their students.

“We are thrilled to have three teachers from our school nominated,” says Dan Seguin, Principal at Holy Cross School. “It speaks volumes that our students and their parents took it upon themselves to recognize these individuals. It’s wonderful to see them highlighted in this way.”

Diane Pawlowski and her son, Luke, learned about the contest online. They decided to nominate Luke’s former teacher, Carole Anne Renton, who taught him in junior kindergarten and senior kindergarten.

“Mrs. Renton is a fantastic teacher,” says Pawlowski. “My son loves going to school. Even over the Christmas holidays, he was asking ‘when do we get to go back?’ We thought this competition was a great opportunity to recognize this outstanding teacher,” she adds.

Ten finalists will be selected by online voting, and a winner will be determined by a panel of judges.

The winner of the competition and the school where they work will receive $5,000, each.

Voting is now open until August 27.
