North Bay police say they recovered a cloth bag containing several long guns following a domestic assault early yesterday morning.
Officers responded to a report of an outdoor argument between a man and a woman on the 900 block of Galt St. on November 18.
Shortly after 6 a.m. on November 18, the couple, who are in a relationship had an argument that turned violent when the man struck the female in the head and face area with his fist. The woman ran out of the Rose Avenue residence and was chased by the man to Galt Street where another assault occurred.
By the time police arrived the man had fled the scene after uttering a death threat to the victim.
The injuries received by the woman did not require medical attention.
That evening, shortly after 8:30 police got a tip that the man was at the Rose Avenue residence, and there may be a firearm in the home. Police used the Emergency Response Team and made an arrest without incident.
In close proximity to the residence police located a cloth bag containing several long guns.
The Investigation has resulted in a 42-year-old man from North Bay being arrested and charged with:
- Assault
- Two counts of uttering death threats
He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Police say in order to protect the identity of the victim, they will not be releasing the name of the accused.
