Updated with video, Police seeking public help in Walmart arson

An investigator from the Ontario Fire Marshall's Office has been assigned to work with the North Bay Police Criminal Investigation Unit

North Bay Police and an investigator from the Ontario Fire Marshalls Office continue to investigate the origin of a fire at Walmart Friday night and are asking the public to help identify the arsonist.

At 9:31 p.m., a fire was started inside the Walmart store in North Bay., causing police and fire departments to respond.

The fire was contained and extinguished by the internal sprinkler system say police.

Customers and employees were evacuated and there were no reports of any injuries.

An investigator from the Ontario Fire Marshall's Office has been assigned to work with the North Bay Police Criminal Investigation Unit.

North Bay Police are asking anyone with relevant information to contact them. Investigators are keen to speak with potential witnesses and also anyone who may have video on their smartphone or vehicle dash cam. You can call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555.
