Police say body found in Lake Nipissing was a North Bay woman

CPR was performed at the scene and the individual was transported to hospital where she was pronounced deceased

North Bay Police have identified a deceased woman who was discovered in Lake Nipissing on Sunday, but say they won't be releasing her name to follow the wishes of the family.

At approximately 2 p.m. on June 20, police, fire and EMS members responded to reports of a body found in Lake Nipissing near Mowat Crescent in North Bay.

CPR was performed at the scene and the woman was taken to the hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Police have confirmed her identity but in accordance with the wishes of the next of kin, they will not be releasing the name..

At this time, the case remains with the Office of the Coroner.

North Bay Police were supported by the Ontario Provincial Police’s Marine Unit at the scene.
