Police release name of Easter fatality (photo included)

The North Bay Police Service has released the name of an 88-year-old woman who was struck and killed by a city bus Sunday at the corner of Worthington and Ferguson streets.

Police said Winifred Watling, of Worthington Street W., was walking across Ferguson around 11:30 when she was struck by the bus, which was travelling northbound on McIntyre and making a left turn on Ferguson St.

Watling was transported to the hospital by ambulance and later passed away. The bus driver's identity has been released by police and no charges have been laid. The investigation continues.
