“I want to know how it happened, did he fall and hit his head or if someone did something to him I’d like some justice.”

Elaine Norma Henry says she has a lot of fond memories of her brother Brian Henry.

“He was hoping to be a nature photographer and loved to do all kinds of things like that,” she said.

“He was a practical joker and loving person who played the guitar.”

Elaine was at police headquarters as police held a media conference about her missing brother who disappeared after going for a walk behind Canadore College on May 5th, 1974.

Detective Constable Roger Drolet says police started their search the following day after his father and his friends tried to do a search for the 21-year-old behind the facility that his father worked at.

“When the police started investigating the missing person it was with the help of the OPP,” said Drolet

“At the time, the trails were searched by canines and the pond that’s up at Canadore College right now was also searched by Scuba Divers of the OPP so an extensive search was done of that area.”

Brian Henry, born 2 September 1952 is described as:

  • Caucasian
  •  5’6” tall
  • 130lbs
  • Short brown hair
  • Brown eyes
  • last seen wearing blue jeans a Jean jacket, black boots and black rimmed glasses.

Drolet, who was only five years old when Henry went missing, says very few leads have come up in this cold case.

“People don’t just disappear off the face of the earth, there’s got to be somebody out there that knows something so that’s what this is all about to give closure to the family and to let them know we are still trying to find Brian and to let people know out there that we are still trying to solve this. There’s somebody out there that knows something and we are urging that they come forward,” he said.

For Brian’s sister, she just hopes to get some closure.

“I want to know how it happened. Did he fall and hit his head or if someone did something to him I’d like some justice,” she said.

“I want to know and have closure because my parents and brothers and sisters didn't get it.”
