Police make multiple arrests in Fisher Street drug bust

The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of Fisher Street in North Bay

The North Bay Police have arrested and charged six people in connection with the execution of a search warrant which led to a seizure of more than $9000 in street drugs 

On the evening of July 27, 2021, the North Bay Police Service, along with members of the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, were conducting an investigation into the distribution of illicit drugs in the North Bay area.

The investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 1100 block of Fisher Street in North Bay.

Police allege that all six accused were in the residence and were arrested during the execution of the search warrant. Items seized by police during the search warrant include;

  • 62.8 grams of suspected cocaine,
  • 40 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine,
  • 59 suspected methamphetamine pills
  • $2,855 in Canadian currency
  • Two digital scales

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $9,932.

The investigation has resulted in the arrest of;

  • Paul Smith, age 42, of Smiths Falls who is charged with;
  • Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and
  • One count of Breach of Probation.

Lynda Marengeur, age 58, of North Bay who is charged with;

  • Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime, and
  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance

Terry Edmunds, age 39, of North Bay who is charged with;

  • Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime, and
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Malcalm Leach, age 72, of North Bay who is charged with;

  • Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime, and
  • One count of Breach of Probation.

Tyler Hodge, age 38, of Brockville who is charged with;

  • Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime, and
  • One count of Possession of a Controlled Substance

Cosmo Olsen, age 40, of North Bay who is charged with;

  • Two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and
  • Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime

All six individuals were released from police custody and will appear at the North Bay Courthouse on September 7th 2021 to answer to their charges.
