Police make arrest in peeping Tom incidents

The intruder was confronted by the homeowner and was held at that location until the police arrived and arrested him

North Bay Police are continuing to investigate a number of peeping Tom complaints of a man peering into windows of homes in the city.

Police say at 11:30 p.m. on January 25, a man was spotted on a residential property in the Olive Street area where he had been looking in windows of the home.

He fled when confronted by the occupant.

Then on January 26, shortly after 4 a.m.a man was discovered inside a home on the 100 block area of King Street West. The intruder was confronted by the homeowner and was held at that location until the police arrived and arrested him.

The investigation has resulted in the arrest of Nicholas Pretty, 39, of North Bay.

He's been charged with:

  • Break and enter
  • Two counts of trespassing at night
  • Voyeurism
  • Two counts of breach of probation.

Pretty remains in custody pending a bail hearing today.
