North Bay man charged by Timmins Police

Further investigation by police revealed the true identity of the individual and he was bound by a recognizance of bail with several conditions which were allegedly being breached

A North Bay man has been charged by Timmins police after they received a call regarding a suspicious person in the downtown area yesterday evening. 

When asked for identification, the officers were provided a false name.

Further investigation revealed the true identity of the individual, and that he was bound by a recognizance of bail with several conditions which police say were being breached.

He was also bound by a probation order with conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. The man was placed under arrest and taken to the Timmins Police station.

While conducting a routine search, police found a quantity of controlled substances in his possession.

Tristan Stephen, 20 of North Bay, faces charges including:

  • identity fraud,
  • possession of a schedule I substance,
  • breach of recognizance (x3),
  • and breach of probation (x2).

Stephen was held in custody pending a bail hearing set for today.
