Police charge woman with failing to provide the necessaries of life

A death investigation in the summer of last year has resulted in charges against a North Bay woman for failing to provide the necessaries of life.

On July 12, 2018, North Bay Police asked the OPP for help with a death investigation at a residential home in this city.

"It was on July 9, 2018, when a 54-year-old female resident died while being bathed," said Constable Jennifer Smith  "The OPP has charged one person as a result of an investigation conducted by members of the North Bay OPP Crime Unit and North East Region Forensic Identification Services." 

Mallorie Makara, 34, of North Bay is charged with "Fail to Provide the Necessaries of Life."

Makara was released on a Promise to Appear and Officer In Charge Undertaking with conditions. 

She is scheduled to attend court in North Bay on March 5.
