The investigation into an accident yesterday morning involving a pedestrian and a transport truck in the Sobey's parking lot at Algonquin Avenue and Champlain Street continues today with news that the woman remains in a Sudbury hospital with major injuries.

A 42-year old male motorist from Ajax, Ontario, who was driving a transport truck and making a right turn from the parking lot onto Champlain Street, struck the 67-year old female pedestrian from North Bay.

The woman was walking westbound and trying to cross the Champlain Street exit when was struck by the trailer end of the transport truck.

Champlain Street was closed from Algonquin and the bypass to the rear end of Sobey's but was reopened late yesterday afternoon.
