Pedestrian hit, police looking for witnesses

The driver, of unknown description and travelling alone, failed to stop.

Police are hoping a witness comes forward after a woman in her 60's was struck Monday.

Police say at approximately 1:15 p.m., the woman was crossing McKeown Avenue northbound from the east side of Champlain Street at the crosswalk while the “Walk” signal was on.

While she was crossing, a blue four-door car travelling south on Champlain Street making a left turn onto McKeown Avenue, eastbound struck her with the mirror of the vehicle.

The driver, of unknown description and travelling alone, failed to stop.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries.
