One person is confirmed deceased at the scene. The OPP will not be releasing the name at this time.

Original 5:20 p.m. information

On March 22, 2017 at 2:39 p.m. members from the Sudbury Detachment of the OPP, the Cartier Fire Department as well as the Sudbury-Manitoulin District Emergency Medical Services, responded to a pedestrian being struck by a train on the Canadian Pacific rail line on Highway 144, Moncrieff Township.

Officers are on scene conducting an investigation. Further information will be provided once it becomes available.
