Ottawa trio facing drug charges following traffic stop

A member of Mattawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) Drug Enforcement Unit have charged three people with drug offences.

The charges stem from a vehicle stop on April 1, 2014 at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the town of Mattawa.

The subsequent investigation led to the seizure of more than 3000 methamphetamine pills and a small quantity marihuana.

Bill MAYHEW, age 24, Telena SAULNIER, age 20, and a 17 year old female all from Ottawa were charged with the following offences:

  • Possession a Schedule I Substance- other drugs-Section 4(1)  as per the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA);
  • Trafficking in Schedule I Substance-other drugs-section 5(1) CDSA ;
  • Possession of Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking-section 5(2) CDSA and;
  • Possession of a Schedule II Substance-Cannabis Marihuana-under 30 grams- Section 4(1) CDSA

All three accused were released from custody and given court dates to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Mattawa.
