OPP say the demonstration will cause traffic delays.

OPP are warning motorists to expect traffic delays today and tomorrow due to the truck demonstration that is anticipated to be passing through our region from today through Saturday.

The convoy is scheduled to make a stop on Pinewood Park Drive in North Bay's south end Friday afternoon.

"Motorists should be prepared for potential slowdowns on highways across North East Region, specifically Highway 17 and Highway 11," says an OPP news release.

"The OPP is working with those involved to minimize the impact on the traveling public and to ensure order and public safety. The traveling public is advised to check ahead for road closure information and to monitor local media for information and alternate routes."

As specific delays become known, the OPP will forward information to media outlets as well as employ its own social media channels.

Demonstration activities may periodically delay or interrupt the normal flow of traffic. The OPP asks that the public remain patient and vigilant if in the area.

The OPP says its role is to maintain public safety and the safe flow of traffic.
