Earlier this morning, OPP issued a warning not to pick up hitchhikers in the Kirkland Lake area due to a police investigation on Government Road between Archer Drive and Chaput Avenue. The warning was issued on social media,
That caution has since been cancelled and police say there is no concern for public safety as the male suspect has been located.
The warning was connected to an OPP investigation into a residential fire on Government Road West of Kirkland Lake.
The fire happened just before 8 a.m. today (May 5). No one was injured.
Police say the investigation is ongoing and more details will be released when available.
