OPP OFFICER INJURED IN THREE-VEHICLE COLLISION

(North Bay, ON) On Wednesday October 29th, 2003 at approximately 4:20 p.m., a motor vehicle collision took place on the North Bay bypass at Trout Lake Road involving three vehicles; one of which was a North Bay OPP cruiser.
Constable Robert Draper of the North Bay Detachment was stopped behind a vehicle in the left turning lane southbound on the bypass.

He was about to make a left turn eastbound on to Trout Lake Road, when another vehicle approached the turning lane and collided into the rear of the OPP cruiser.
This caused the cruiser to collide with the vehicle in front.

Constable Draper and one of the drivers were rushed to North Bay General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
