OPP looking for Bonfield area assault suspect

The OPP is releasing a few details about an assault that took place late Saturday night in Bonfield.   

On Saturday at about 11:30 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North Bay Detachment was called to a residence on Church Street, in Bonfield.   

The OPP say when officers arrived they found a person with life-threatening injuries in the residence. 

The OPP report that the injured person is now in stable condition at the hospital.  

The North Bay OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Jim Gorry of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).  

The OPP say no arrests have been made yet.

They are asking residents to be vigilant of their personal safety at all times and keep your doors locked.   

Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident or anyone who was in the Bonfield area on the evening of September 21st or early morning of September 22nd and observed anything suspicious, you are asked to call the OPP immediately at 1-888-310-1122.
