OPP are investigating an early morning house fire yesterday near Port Loring that left one occupant dead.
At approximately 5 a.m., Powassan OPP, the Argyle and Restoule Fire Departments responded to a residential fire on Highway 522, East Mills Township.
The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing by members of the North Bay OPP Crime Unit, OPP Forensic Identification Services in partnership with members from the Office of the Fire Marshal and the Office of the Chief Coroner says a news release.
While the investigation is still in the preliminary stages, police believe there is no risk to the public at this time but the community can expect to see an increased presence of OPP personnel and vehicles in the area as the investigation continues.
