Police say they have found human remains in Coleman Township, southeast of Cobalt.
Yesterday (Monday) afternoon, members of the OPP Temiskaming Detachment were notified that human remains were found in Coleman Township.
They, along with the assistance of OPP Forensic Identification Unit, OPP Crime Unit, and the Emergency Response Team are continuing this investigation under the direction of Detective S/Sgt Kurtis Fredericks of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service are also engaged in this investigation.
At this time, the identity of the deceased has not been confirmed. A post-mortem examination will take place at a later date.
There are no further details at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
