OPP continue to probe Hwy 11 accident

Almaguin Highlands OPP continue investigating a tractor-trailer collision Sunday which closed Hwy 11, about three kms north of Burk's Falls, for about five hours.

Three tractor-trailer units collided at about 7:30 am and one of them burst into flames after the collision. Damage was extensive to the tractor-trailers but no injuries occurred to the drivers.

A small fuel spill occurred from one of the transport units but was promptly contained by the Burk’s Falls Fire Department and subsequently cleaned up. The collision occurred when one of the tractor trailers crossed the center line and collided with a second tractor trailer which side swiped a third tractor trailer.

The investigation is under the direction of Const. Rosemary Coffey.
