Eighteen people face charges after Huntsville OPP responded to reports of a "large gathering."
Yesterday, around 5:30 p.m., police acted on a tip from the public about a large gathering that was occurring at a house on Deerfoot Trail in Huntsville. Officers found a large group of people non-compliant with restrictions under the Reopening Ontario Act.
As a result, 18 attendees were each fined $880 for failing to comply with an order made during a declared emergency.
"We are working with local Public Health Units, bylaw enforcement, and other agencies," said Constable Jeff Handsor. "Public safety remains our top priority."
