OPP appealing to the public for help with an unsolved homicide

ORILLIA – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the death of a 53-year-old Vietnamese man three years ago and investigators remain confident that the mystery surrounding his death will be solved.   

A $50,000 reward is now being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Van Sanh TIEU that happened on February 18, 2011. 

Mr. TIEU’s remains were discovered by work crews excavating after a large residential fire on Mississauga Road in the Town of Caledon.

Evidence revealed the home had been used as a marihuana grow-op. 

Mr. TIEU had been tending to the property in the days before his death.

The OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) file remains open on this matter, and police are now offering a $50,000 reward for information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of TIEU’S killer.

Police believe there are individuals who know what happened, and who could assist them in completing this investigation.
