Open letter: Cassellholme needs to be acted on quickly

This long-overdue (30 year) LTC priority should be constructed over 3 years, not spread over 6 years, to be more palatable financially to the municipalities
cassellholme 1 turl 2016

To: The Honourable Anthony Rota

Sir:

My previous open subject correspondence to you was ignored. On behalf of the 256 humans today waiting for a long term care (LTC) bed at the doors
of Cassellholme LTC and the 240 residents can you please:

  • Investigate the use of a federal mediator/negotiator to "assist" Cassellholme LTC, the local municipal governments and the Province of Ontario, in resolving their ongoing dispute with respect to the subject LTC project in your riding.

Recognizing the delivery of LTC is a Provincial responsibility, remember the majority of the Cassellholme residents (your constituents), still sleep two to a room, separated by a curtain, with no new HVAC during a pandemic.

This long-overdue (30 year) LTC priority should be constructed over 3 years, not spread over 6 years, to be more palatable financially to the municipalities.

Sincerely,

Ephrem Gallant
