The producers and the talent of the detective series “Carter”, which is being filmed in North Bay this summer, were amazed by what they saw recently when they shot a scene in the Ontario Northland remanufacturing and repair centre here in North Bay.

Jerry O’Connell, the show’s co-star who has taken North Bay by storm with his friendly demeanor, was impressed by the unique location.

“We did a scene at the train yard, like a train yard refurbishing plant and you couldn’t find a location like that, like Marvel movies are not like that, it was just so cool,” said O’Connell.

Garry Campbell, the Carter TV series’ creator, echoed O’Connell’s sentiments.

“We were shooting in a place that was painting trains the other day, it was post apocalyptic actually, it looked like they ripped out the insides of a train and then they were painting parts of cars and it was an incredible set,” said Campbell in an interview with BayToday.ca.

For Campbell, the ONR rail yard is just one of a number of amazing locations that have been scoped out by the TV crew location scouts.

He believes North Bay offers a lot of location diversity.

“If we have to travel 50 miles to do a scene, the show almost becomes undoable, we have to find a place that has got different looks within a small geographical area and North Bay is killing it in that respect,” he said.
