One taken to hospital in Tuesday's double tractor trailer crash

Both commercial motor vehicles struck the southbound shoulder and ditch

That tractor trailer accident Tuesday that closed highway 11 near Marten River for 11 hours sent just one person to hospital with undetermined injuries Constable Jennifer Smith said in a news release.

 A northbound tractor trailer collided with a southbound tractor trailer around 6:35 a.m., resulting in both commercial motor vehicles striking the southbound shoulder and ditch.

Highway 11 was completely re-opened at approximately 5 p.m. 

Two people were involved in the collision. The driver of the northbound tractor trailer was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. The second driver was uninjured.

The OPP is continuing its investigation into this crash.

Temiskaming Detachment OPP along with the Temagami Fire Department, the Marten River Fire Department and Temiskaming Ambulance Services, responded to the collision.
