One impaired driver in motor vehicle collision

A 25-year-old Etobikoke man was charged with impaired driving after he rolled his white 2001 Honda Prelude on Highway 654, Nipissing Township.

Alexander Caputo received minimal injuries after he was traveling westbound on Highway 654 near Hazel Glen Road and rolled his vehicle in the north ditch. He will appear in court on Tuesday Oct. 4.

There were three marine incidents reported during this time period. One included a vessel that broke down off of Goose Island in Lake Nipissing.

The vessel was towed to Sturgeon Falls.
There was a report of overdue boaters in Callender Bay which turned out to be unfounded.
A 14 foot vessel was reported abandoned off of Couchie Memorial Drive on Lake Nipissing. Upon a further report, there were people in the vessel and no police response was required.

Police will continue to monitor school bus traffic during this month as children go back to school today. Police will be looking out for persons failing to stop for the school bus lights. New legislation as of Sept. 1 allows vehicle owners to be charged if their vehicle illegally passes a stopped school bus. ‘Let’s Remember Adam, Stop for the School Bus.”
